Simple Present Presente Simples

A maioria dos verbos em inglês tem duas formas de presente simples. A principal é a seguinte:

I / you /we / they walk. Eu / você / nós / eles / elas andamos.

E a forma na terceira pessoa do singular onde um s é adicionado no fim do verbo.

He / she / it walks. Ele / ela anda.

Quando um verbo termina com y, o y torna-se i e es é adicionado.

She cries. Ela chora.
It flies. Ele ou ela voa.

O presente simples é usado para descrever ações habitais ou características.

Susan always smiles. Susan sempre sorri.
George seldom laughs. George raramente ri.

Quando o sujeito de uma sentença é omitido, o presente simples torna-se um comando.

A forma principal do verbo 'to be' é be.
